With Norbury riding high and doing a great job recruiting and nurturing players they dominated much of the game. WACS can take heart that each week they are learning and improving more. The first 5-10 mins saw some good training ground build up from WACS with Norbury pushed back but held their defence well. Once they started breaking forward they soon built up a commanding lead. James, Ethan, Ben and Issac were notable in the first 2 quarters with some rapid bursts forward. Norbury finished 11-0 at the end of the first half. In the early part of the third quarter goalie Matt brought some excellent saves. Ross also played well with some good defensive work and a long pass that brought a speedy break from Sean. But again Norbury had the upper hand for most of the quarter taking the score to 15-0. With the 4th quarter approaching James finally got some reward for his tenacity with a goal to close the quarter at 15-1.
After some inspiration from Tony, WACS started the 4th quarter with some new determination. James battled (with giants) once again from the face off and Luca picked up the ground ball and made a great forward pass to James who dodged his way to score. Norbury bagged several more goals in the quarter but WACS ended on a positive with a great run from Issac on the right and Thomas hitting a post - Issac tussled well and retained possession with a pass to James who almost unleashed a belter when he was illegally checked. With Norbury a man down they saw the game out at an officially reported 21-2 (though I only had it at 19-2!)
